Waterfront Director

Qualifications
1. Advanced knowledge of water safety and instruction skills.
2. Previous swimming instructor’s experience, including life guarding and swimming skills instruction.
3. Familiarity with Adventist Youth Honors and Red Cross Progressive levels of swimming instruction.
4. Hold a current Red Cross Lifeguard Certificate, and Water Safety Instructor Certificate.
5. Working knowledge of Risk Management and PA State DEA regulations, and American Camping Association operating standards regarding water safety.
6. Ability to manage people, organize a safe and effective swimming and canoeing program, and relate positively in interpersonal relationships.

Counselor
Laurel Lake Summer Camp
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Be a responsible, mature person with leadership capabilities.
2. Understanding of camp objective and philosophy of soul-winning
3. A basic knowledge of child and adolescent development.
4. Assist campers in knowing which classes and activities they’re in and help them get there.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for the total well-being of each camper assigned to your cabin; including health, safety, mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional needs.
2. Nurture the spiritual development of each camper helping him/her to accept Jesus Christ as personal Savior and to know Jesus as his/her best friend.
3. Welcome campers upon arrival, learning each name, assigning bunks, and introducing them to fellow campers, and explaining camp rules and objectives.
4. Supervise assigned campers in activities, 24 hours per day, six days per week, and know the location of each camper at all times.
5. Assist campers with duties, learning of skills, selection of cabin activities, team building activities, and interpersonal relationships with fellow campers.
6. Report symptoms of ill health to camp nurse and division director.
7. Lead morning and evening cabin devotions.
8. Encourage campers to enthusiastically participate in as many camp activities and programs as possible.
9. Counsel with division director regarding discipline challenges.
10. Assist in various camp activities and programs as requested.

4. Ability to patiently communicate and demonstrate skills.
5. Attendance and certification at Camp Horsemanship Association Instructors clinic is recommended.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Fulfill assignments by the horsemanship director; assist in teaching of al horsemanship classes and trail rides.
2. Assist in implementing strict safety guidelines requiring all riders to wear helmets, long pants, shoes, and socks.
3. Assist in maintaining all trails, tack, barn, and corral areas, and equipment in good/safe working order.
4. Assist in keeping records of skill level/honor completion
5. Assist in keeping records of class attendance
6. Keep barn, stables, and corral areas clean and neat.
7. Feed and water horses. Be responsible for health and safety of all horses.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Fulfill assignments by Food Service Director in preparation, serving, and storage of food.
2. Keep assigned work area clean, orderly, and safe
3. Receive scheduled and assigned duties from Food Service Director which include, but are not limited to the following:
a. Put away orders
b. Food preparation, serving, cleaning, and storage
c. Sweep and mop kitchen and dish room
d. Periodically cleaning all equipment
e. Periodically cleaning out storeroom.
f. Assist in special meals and programs.

1. Know and be able to teach several Pathfinder honors in things such as archery, camping skills, fire building, shelter building, etc.

Qualifications:

2. Have previous camp experience.
3. Knowledge of counseling techniques and responsibilities.
4. Ability to guide, direct, and supervise boys counselors and campers and relate positively in interpersonal relationships.

Responsibilities
1. Make cabin assignments for boys’ counselors and campers.
2. Coordinate counselor meetings
3. Work with assistant camp director to schedule boys’ counselor days off and relieve counselors.
4. Require boys counselor’s knowledge of camper’s whereabouts at all times.
5. Serve as advisor to director in all camp programs and assist programs director.
6. Advise counselors and campers on discipline programs.
7. Schedule cabin free time activities, outposts, and overnight trips in cooperation with the assistant camp director.
8. Coordinate line call accountability for boys.
9. Schedule boys cabin work duties and see that these are completed.
10. See that daily schedule is followed.
11. Check attendance at activity classes.
12. Prepare an alphabetized list of boy campers by cabins before bedtime on Sunday evenings.
13. Responsible for curfew/night watch procedures for all campers and counselors.
14. Equip counselors to provide quality devotionals for both morning and evening cabin worships.
15. Serve as cafeteria host by dismissing tables.
