Program Director – General Psychiatry Residency
Oregon Health & Science University / St. Charles Health System Seeking Program Director for unique residency in a highly sought-after location. Oregon Health & Science University and the St. Charles Health System have partnered to start a... 24-resident (6/yr) program centered in Bend, Oregon, which has consistently been listed as one of the best places to live in the US, one time even being called the “outdoors equivalent of Disneyland”. The program would be the third general psychiatry residency in the state of Oregon, and would offer training and service experiences not just unique in the state, but nationally. The St. Charles system serves the rapidly growing Central Oregon region, where longstanding communities (tribal, ranching, farming, and migrant laborer communities) and new arrivals (outdoor and environmental enthusiasts, tech and data center developers, and governmental agencies) mingle and weave, where the frontier meets urban development, the mountains meet the city streets. The residency program, whose rotation partners extend beyond the St. Charles system, to Deschutes County Mental Health, local Community Healthcare Agencies, and OHSU’s academic center in Portland (3 hours away), has already attained initial certification by the ACGME, and is awaiting final institutional agreements to proceed with
recruitment. The Program PD would work with institution admin and faculty to continue faculty development, ensure quality of already planned and designed rotations and didactics, and initiate recruitment of first intern class. Please contact me if you have some interest, and we can talk more! Sean Stanley, MD (OHSU Portland PD)
