University of Arkansas Summary of Position: The Department of Agricultural Economics & Agribusiness at the University of Arkansas invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate. This is ... a 12-month research appointment supervised by Jada Thompson. The research of this position will broadly focus on production economics and agricultural markets.
Summary of Duties: The Postdoctoral Research Associate will assist with research, from instrument design to journal publication and writing grant proposals. These activities include developing research questions, collecting and analyzing data, and communicating findings from research. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will also be expected to lead by managing projects and engaging with graduate student researchers.
Qualifications: Candidates for this position should have a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, or a closely related field, and demonstrated experience in independent research, use of primary and secondary data, and writing academic outputs including research and extension articles. Candidates should have demonstrated knowledge of forecasting, data management, and applied econometrics. Knowledge about production economics, livestock/poultry markets, and USDA data is preferred.

Assistant/Associate Professor of Environmental Economics
University of Missouri The Division of Applied Social Sciences (DASS) seeks applications for Assistant/Associate Professor to support teaching and research relating to energy and environmental economics... . This is a nine month, tenure track appointment position with an equal
appointment split between teaching and research.
The successful candidate will have research and teaching interests and expertise at the
intersection of energy and environmental economics. The particular focus is on energy
market structures, industry organization, and the impact of environmental policies and
regulations on market operations, environmental externalities, and human health. Experience teaching courses in energy economics and environmental economics at the undergraduate and graduate level is preferred. A program of research and scholarship consistent with that of a faculty member in an AAU research university is required, including a track record of or strong signal of potential for obtaining external funding.
Minimum Qualifications: PhD in economics, agricultural economics, environmental
economics.
Candidates will be evaluated on: Effectiveness of research, including publications in peer reviewed journals, and effectiveness in obtaining competitive external funding. Willingness to collaborate with DASS colleagues and other faculty on the MU campus. Effectiveness of teaching. Success in working with undergraduate and graduate students in a learning and mentoring environment.

NDSU Position: Tenure-track Assistant Professor of Agricultural Economics (9-month)
The Department of Agribusiness and Applied Economics at North Dakota State University invites... applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level to begin in January 2025. A doctoral degree and an active research program related to U.S. agricultural policy is required. The full-time position will be aligned with the Center for Agricultural Policy and Trade Studies, and the successful candidate is expected to serve as the Assistant Director of the Center. This administrative role involves providing leadership to the research, extension, and outreach activities of the Center.
The primary selection criteria will be the quality of the applicant’s research and interests. The position provides an outstanding opportunity for independent research and ample opportunities for collaboration. The Assistant Professor is expected to participate actively in the University’s intellectual activities, maintain an active extension program, and engage with North Dakota’s agricultural stakeholders on policy issues relevant to the Upper Midwest.

Policy Research Institute (FAPRI) and the MU Water Center. This is a non-tenure track, 9 month appointment position. FAPRI has extensive experience examining issues related to agricultural markets and policies and the MU Water Center has expertise in issues ranging from hydrology to the environmental consequences of alternative water management policies. The successful candidate for this position should complement existing FAPRI and Water Center faculty and staff.
MU recently obtained a three-year agreement with the National Institute of Standards and
Technology to examine issues related to flood risk resiliency and inland waterway navigation. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to that project by conducting and coordinating applied research relevant to benefit-cost analysis of flood mitigation and river transportation enhancement efforts. This may involve coordination with the Army Corps of Engineers and interaction with a variety of stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Economics, Agricultural Economics, Environmental Economics, Natural Resource Economics, Regional Economics or related field by the time of appointment.
