We also have extensive opportunities for mentorship, individual growth, and career progression. Our department has a Medical Educator Track for residents and fellows. Unique clinical experiences include a clinic integrated in our Peds department, robust ECHO programs, and a program providing phone consultation to primary care. SIU has a very supportive GME Office and positive (financially supportive!) relationships with our partnering facilities. We also have an integrated Child Track into our General Psychiatry Residency.

Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience. Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule.
Candidates must be BC/BE in General Psychiatry. Interest in pursuing an academic career, working with quality improvement projects, and in community psychiatry would be considered as positive attributes. Applicants must have or be able to obtain a Texas Medical license. Residency/Fellowship training in Emergency Psychiatry is ideal but not required. Academic experience and strong track record of clinical teaching is preferred.
