CAP Program Director
Southern Illinois University School of Medicine
Southern Illinois School of Medicine is looking for a new CAP Program Director to lead our fellowship program. Our current Program Director is taking on new leadership roles which allows us to add new talent to our department.

SIU is world-renowned as a leader in UME education. We are integrating that expertise into our educational programs. We have a saying at SIU: “If it ain’t broke, make it better!”

Our department is blessed with several experienced psychiatric educators (ala Drs. Karen Broquet, Joy Houston, and Kari Wolf) who continue to introduce new educational activities into our educational programs (and have a lot of fun doing it!) We also have extensive opportunities for mentorship, individual growth, and career progression. Our department has a Medical Educator Track for residents and fellows. Unique clinical experiences include a clinic integrated in our Peds department, robust ECHO programs, and a program providing phone consultation to primary care. SIU has a very supportive GME Office and positive (financially supportive!) relationships with our partnering facilities. We also have an integrated Child Track into our General Psychiatry Residency.

Springfield is a wonderful small city that is an hour from St. Louis and 3 hours from Chicago. We have a great quality of life with a family-friendly community, low cost of living, and great work-life balance. Our medical school has a strong focus on wellness, an active AWIMS (Alliance for Women in Medicine and Science) program, and is a leader in anti-racism efforts.

Come join an exciting, growing department that puts education first in our mission work (education, clinical care, scholarship, and service to the community). Contact Dr. Kari Wolf (chair of the department) at the email or cell phone number below.
