Circulation Services Librarian
Bridgeport Public Library The City of Bridgeport Public Library is in search of a full-time Circulation Services Librarian. This position reports directly to the Library Director and performs a variety of supervisory, training, and patron-centric duties in a public library; much of the work is patron-based in nature and involves the application of standard library procedures and routines. Duties include training, scheduling, and supervising Library Aides; maintaining documentation on all assigned staff members and any problems that might arise at the circulation desk; keeping extensive circulation statistics; tracking usage of electronic resources; communicating patron issues and requests to the Library Director; providing excellent customer service to patrons by ensuring all part-time staff members follow current policies and procedures; maintaining supervisory notes and preparing interim and annual evaluations; creating daily assignments for part-time staff; communicating with building vendors; coordinating interlibrary loan requests; and handling biweekly transits within library consortium. This is a full-time position and requires working days, evenings, and weekends as scheduled.

Adult Services Outreach Librarian/Specialist

Manager of Mobile Outreach
Lee County Library System Lee County Library System, a dynamic, forward thinking organization, is offering enthusiastic, community-minded candidates the opportunity to manage County-wide mobile outreach operations. The mobile outreach department operates with a staff of 3 full-time employees, occasionally using on-call staff. This position is responsible for directly supervising a combination of full-time and part-time outreach associates and coordinating staff across the library system performing duties in the mobile outreach department.
The Mobile Outreach offices are currently located within the South County Regional Library in Estero, with plans to relocate to the new Library Administration headquarters in downtown Fort Myers next May. The Manager of Mobile Outreach reports to the Manager of Programming and Community Outreach at Library Administration and they collaborate to ensure the library system is adapting to growth in the area and expanding services to underserved communities by focusing on mobile outreach, community engagement and outreach programming. The Lee County Library System’s strategic plan is dedicated to reach people where they are in the community and the Manager of Mobile Outreach will be critical in establishing, maintaining and expanding outreach services by utilizing multiple vehicles at offsite deposit collections, lobby stops, scheduled delivery routes, and special community events. Mobile Outreach services at Lee County Library System currently utilize two different vans, with plans to acquire two additional specialty vehicles for outreach, including a replacement for the previous climb-on bookmobile. Organizational Description An Exploratory Committee has formed organically to determine the feasibility of creating a national Books to Prisons Alliance comprised of the many, primarily local and regional, volunteer-run books to prisons programs that currently exist and mostly work autonomously. The Exploratory Committee seeks to address the following needs in the movement: There is a need for a collective, consistent, practice-based voice representing program leaders, educators, students, volunteers, and other stakeholders experienced in the Books to Prisons work. There is a lack of data, research, and a common evaluation framework for assessing the value of Books to Prisons programs. Program leaders need support and connection to sustain existing programs and to start new programs. There is an opportunity to establish and share best practices and approaches to increase the distribution of books to prisoners. There is a disconnect between (and no formal feedback loop for) programs to inform policy and advocacy at state and national levels.
New Lenox Public Library Develops, implements and evaluates library programming initiatives. Responsible to select, budget, schedule, and host a variety of Library programs and special events throughout the year. Will work collaboratively with Creative Services staff to promote programming and develop social media content, program flyers and other forms of marketing.
