The position reports to the Senior Employment Equity Compliance Consultant who is responsible for the creation, oversight, and administration of Stantec’s Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action Program (AAP) to ensure organizational compliance with federal, state, provincial, and local employment laws.
The AA/EEO Compliance Coordinator helps prepare annual affirmative action plans (AAPs) by providing data review, validation, and preparation support of various employment-based activities as well as help evaluate the effectiveness of those programs and systems. The AA/EEO Compliance Coordinator supports the data review, validation, preparation of government reporting including annual EEO-1 and VETS 4212 as well as the growing numbers of state and local reporting requirements. In addition, the AA/EEO Compliance Coordinator supports State workforce certifications, Title VI, Title VII requests, State audits, and RFP inquiries.

This position administers the provisions of Minnesota Statutes 16C.16 relating to targeted group, economically disadvantaged, and veteran-owned small businesses. This position determines the eligibility of those businesses, monitors vendor performance, investigates and resolves agency and vendor disputes, and provides outreach and assistance to all businesses to improve their effectiveness in competing for state purchasing and contracting. The OEP unit helps ensure greater equity in state contracting and construction. It promotes opportunities to do business with the state and assists small businesses owned by women, minorities, people with substantial physical disabilities, and veterans as they seek state contracts. The OEP unit works closely with communities and vendors and represents the State of Minnesota at community events. This position coordinates outreach events and provides training for vendors as well as one-on-one business counselling. This position conducts in-depth review of certification applications and annual certification review to determine eligibility to participate in the state small business procurement program. This position is expected to work closely with internal and external partners to ensure equity and inclusion in construction contracts, including setting target goals and monitoring payments to small and disadvantaged businesses during the life of the contract ensuring compliance.
