Regional Finance Specialist and Secretary

The Finance Specialist/Secretary will assist in any or all of the facets of finances and secretarial needs at the regional level.
Provide support for the Central Office Finance team.
● Works as purchasing manager for the region's schools.
● Update Payroll records entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, deductions, and other updates.
● Answer employees’ questions while maintaining employee confidence and protecting payroll operations by keeping information
confidential.
● Gather and collate information to prepare data-related reports
● Provide staff and stakeholders with accurate information regarding school operations
● Produce reports in compliance with legal and administrative requirements
● Operate electronic mail systems and coordinate the flow of information internally and externally
● Prepare and distribute appropriate communications including newsletters, emails, and announcements
● Prepare a variety of documents including correspondence, agendas, event programs, reports, schedules, and calendars
● Compose, type, and distribute minutes of meetings
Perform other duties as assigned.

Title I Coordinator

Reports to: Director of Finance
Dept./School: Business Office
Primary Role:
Assist in the management of federal, state and local grant activities of the district. Ensure compliance with applicable state laws and regulations.
Qualifications we are looking for:
Education/Certification:
Bachelors in Accounting or Business and/or Texas Association of School Business Offices certification and/or 5 years’ experience in Texas Public School Business and Finance
Experience:
Three years accounting experience at a high level of responsibility or 5 years’ experience in Texas Public School Business/Finance
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of accounting principles
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency skills in keyboarding and file maintenance
Ability to work with numbers in an accurate and rapid manner
Ability to prepare journal entries
Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases and word processing
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Accounting
Oversee and assist with the daily operation of all federal, state and local grants.
File expenditure reports for all grants.
Prepare monthly cash draws.
Prepare journal entries and budget changes.
Approval of all grant expenditures.
Prepare fiscal year-end entries.
