Vancouver Mural Festival To oversee the VMF street party experience for our city, our residents and our visitors, we are seeking a highly motivated site management professional to join our team. The succe... ssful independent contractor will be a team player overseeing the layout, safety and flow of the Saturday street festival. They will uphold strong representation of VMF amongst contractors and community partners and in our community, while taking into account the attendance goals of this year’s festival. In addition to festival site responsibilities, successful candidates will bring exceptional energy, creativity, experience and leadership to the design and perception of VMF, supporting the strategic goals and engagement of our patrons and partners.
This individual will work remotely with the availability and ability to attend in-person meetings at VMF’s collaborative work space. The position will initially require 1x days per week and will increase to 2-3x days per week during the festival window (June 1st - September 1st). The selected contractor is free to manage other client projects/obligations.
Our one-day street festival is estimated to attract up to 145,000 patrons over 15 blocks of programming this year -- including 4 beer gardens, 20+ food trucks, 2 art markets, three stages and all-ages programming throughout the day.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Assessing compliance gaps within safety management systems Conducting risk assessments Developing OHS procedures and supporting documents Assisting clients with the implementation of safety management system components Leading presentations, facilitating development workshops and supporting client JOHS committee meetings Orienting employees, contractors and other stakeholders to the client’s management program Liaising with multiple stakeholders to identify and communicate associated risk and mitigation strategies Conducting regular monitoring/inspections and job observations to assess compliance and performance and effectively summarizing findings within reports and correspondence Carrying-out field/site hands-on aspects of safety management system audits, site assessments, and field work Writing and formatting reports, letters, memos and correspondence Supporting the sales process by assisting with the development of formal proposals, quotes, and estimates Preference will be given to candidates who have post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety or Occupational Hygiene or related science.
Certification as a CHSC, CRSP or CIH is required for the more senior roles.
A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are required.
