Receives referrals for interventions and other behavioral, mental, physical and social needs from program participants and addresses these referrals in a timely and appropriate manner.

Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelors Degree in Public Health, behavioral Health, related field or equivalent experience.
One (1) year experience working in behavioral health or prevention/health education.
Must be at least 21 years of age
Proficiency in MS Office products and including PowerPoint.

PROGRAM SUMMARY: Sexual violence (SV) victims with disabilities are significantly underserved and face challenges in receiving comprehensive victim services that are accessible, culturally relevant, and gender responsive (DOJ/OVW, 2018). BLOOM365, an Arizona interpersonal violence prevention and response non-profit, along with schools and population specific community-based organizations serving children and adults of all ages who have special needs, will address this gap through Safety for All (SFA), a Sexual Assault Services Program.

SFA is a school and community-based program to increase help-seeking, safety, healing and well-being among victims of SV with disabilities. As the Program Director of BLOOM365 Disability Services you will lead the staffing and implementation of SFA within multiple program sites, including schools via special education/special needs programming and community-based disability specific organizations across Maricopa County, Arizona.

In addition, per the grant contract, you will have a direct service role, facilitating SFA outreach education and developing a Safety for All Lead Peer Advocate program. The target population is primary and secondary youth victims and survivors with disabilities, ages 11-24. The secondary target population is SFA program participants of all ages, plus their non-offending family members/ caregivers.

The program Manager is responsible for Arizona’s Child Fatality Review Team and the Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (CDC) grant. The Child Fatality Review Program is mandated by A.R.S 36-342, 36-350-4. This position is responsible for the administration of approximately $600,000 in state and federal funds and oversees contracts with ten to twelve local agencies for the provision of child fatality reviews. The Child Fatality Review program reviews the circumstances of the deaths of all children in Arizona, around 1,000 annually.

This person must be able to take both an ethical and best practice approach in a crisis and can shift focus as the situation requires. Independent and flexible, their day can start by leading a classroom discussion on suicide prevention and coping strategies and then immediately pivot to counseling and debriefing with youth and school personnel in a crisis situation.

Prevention education, outreach, and clinical services are the key areas of expertise for this position and a day in the life might consist of working and conducting presentations with schools and other community agencies; directing and overseeing student lead initiatives and outreach events; and ensuring that they are kept well informed on current clinical best practice regulations.

As a part of the Teen Lifeline program team, another large focus will be actively engaging with our volunteer teen peer counselors during their hotline shifts. The Prevention Specialist will supervise teen peer counselors on the crisis hotline one regular evening shift a week, and some nights and weekends. Showing empathy and being a compassionate listener all while using good judgment and effective boundaries is an important part of the Prevention Specialist’s relationship with our teen peer counselors.
