About the Position:

The Business Development Coordinator is a key role on the business development team. Position duties include:

Proposal Writing: A primary responsibility of this position is the development of winning written proposals for the acquisition of new business. Responsibilities include research, writing, and editing in the preparation and submission of written proposals, and the coordination or management of the proposal writing process. Additional tasks include support and participation in internal and external debrief efforts, ongoing process improvement, maintaining proposal content library, creating sales presentations, and administration and coordination of sales and marketing efforts.

Market Analysis and Database Management: Maintenance and use of multiple databases for tracking energy efficiency programs, including monitoring of competitive bidding opportunities that align with PSD’s mission and core competencies. Research and evaluation of state and utility energy efficiency (EE) programs, opportunities, and legislative requirements. Assist in cultivating new opportunities and avenues for proposal lead development, including tracking of leads and follow-up communication with prospective customers.

Marketing and Outreach: Support for the strategic positioning and enhancement of PSD’s presence in the marketplace. Responsibilities will include keeping abreast of new industry developments, evaluation of competitor marketing, marketing and outreach plan development support, and writing web articles and press releases. Administrative support will include coordination of industry association memberships, conference attendance, and sponsorships. Occasional attendance at industry conferences will be required.

This position is based in PSD’s offices in Philadelphia, PA with occasional regional and overnight travel required. Ability to lift 25 lbs. Heavy use of computer requiring close visual concentration and long periods of sitting. Office environment with frequent interruptions of moderate noise levels.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or commensurate work experience. Enthusiasm for energy efficiency. Experienced writer and editor with 2 or more years of experience developing compelling written proposals. Self-motivated, comfortable working across interdisciplinary teams, and committed to excellence. Demonstrated success in coordinating projects involving multiple staff and partners, with great attention to detail. Ability to research, solicit, organize, and coordinate a wide variety of information. Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Must truly enjoy working towards a common goal with a team of smart, passionate, and talented people.
Preferred Requirements:

3-5 years of experience with energy efficiency program design and a strong understanding of the issues and regulatory environment for utility clients. Direct experience with Salesforce, including lead and opportunity management, and report development. Experience with project management principles. Experience with b2b marketing is a plus.
