Business Development Representative
Wellspring
Wellspring is hiring a Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our Marketing team. In this role, your main responsibility will be to identify, generate, and qualify prospective clients to develop a robust sales pipeline in the corporate intellectual property (IP) management market.

As a Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for:

Outbound pipeline development. Build out contact/target lists. Generate a pipeline of Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) via outbound prospecting, cold calling and emailing, social selling, etc.

Lead generation. Generate Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs) for our marketing & sales organization. Developing both marketing-generated leads and self-generated leads until they are fully qualified SQLs. Sell and position prospects until they are qualified deals that can be transitioned to the sales team for late-stage selling and closing activities.

Lead qualification. Triage inbound leads generated by marketing to determine if they are appropriate for a deal cycle. Qualify outbound opportunities to develop a strong sales pipeline for Account Executives.

What You’ll Need

Bachelor's degree with a strong academic background required.

Between 2-5 years of experience in B2B sales or marketing roles.

Relevant training and experience in a tech transfer or corporate IP office is a plus.

Team-oriented player who is able to work collaboratively with a variety of colleagues.

Superior communication skills, both written and verbal.

Self-starter and hardworking, with a track record of success and drive for achievement.

Sales training and pre-call planning a plus.

MDI Biological Laboratory
The MDI Biological Laboratory (MDIBL) is a rapidly growing, independent, non-profit biomedical research institution. Our scientific focus is on the molecular and cellular mechanisms of tissue regeneration and aging. Our campus provides an excellent educational program. The Administrative Director works closely with the President to develop and advance all institutional goals and programs. He/she oversees the daily operations of the institution and the work of department managers. Experience in leading collaborative research and/or research training programs is desirable.

Responsibilities:
• Learn the appropriate modules and functions of Streamlyne Research to become an application expert. 
Documentation & RFP Responses
• As directed work with the Streamlyne team to develop, write, and edit user-training materials and technical documentation
• As directed assist with the responses to RFIs, RFPs and other requests from prospects and customers, including providing content for functional questions, proof reading and reviewing the content to ensure all components are accurate and complete. 
• Work under the direction of your manager to assist with the documentation of Streamlyne Research, and eventually with implementations.  This may include any of the following areas:
◦ Within areas of expertise, stay current with industry trends, changes in regulations, etc.
◦ Provide input on product development based on subject matter expertise and industry trends
◦ Lead and/or actively participate in internal knowledge transfer activities.
◦ Through on-the-job training and self-study: acquire business analysis skills.
