Associate Vice President & Controller

Consult with and support investigators and trainees on writing and editing of papers, reports and scientific presentations, while demonstrating a comfort level with topics of moderate to high complexity.

Provide additional writing and editing for the Morgridge communications team to support its public-facing print, web & social media platforms.

Serve as liaison between scientists and graphic designers and artists to help develop visual materials that powerfully convey research concepts and advance understanding of complex topics.

Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, public relations, English, communications, science communications or other related field, or equivalent experience, is required. Advanced degree preferred.

Minimum 5 years of communications or editorial experience, preferably in a science-related field, with at least 3 of those years dedicated to science writing and editing.
Experience with writing and editing technical reports, manuscripts, grant applications and other research related publications.

Strong editing and writing abilities combined with a strong functional knowledge of AP style.
Passion for helping scientists translate their scientific discoveries for broader public audiences.
A proven ability to work both collaboratively and independently, and produce high-quality work on a defined timeline is.
Curiosity and enthusiasm for biomedical research and its positive benefits for society.
