Associate Director of Financial Aid

The Office of Financial Aid is accepting applications for an Associate Director. The qualified candidate selected for this position will be responsible for the following:

Manage the front office operations and coordinate the Financial Aid department and the Banner-Student system.

Provide assistance with the development and monitoring of policies, procedures, forms development, student budgets, etc.

Ensure the automated electronic application and packaging processes run smoothly and on a timely basis.

Manage the COD and ISIR load processes, and ensure processes are run daily.

Review COD and ISIR files to resolve issues or errors as indicated by the Department of Education.

Review documentation submitted by students and determine if additional information is needed in order to ensure students meet the requirements for financial aid.

Manage the Federal Direct Loan Program (DL) to include developing policies and procedures for successful delivery of loans.

Disburse loan funds as well as all other financial aid funds to student accounts.

Develop effective consumer information materials to inform and guide prospective students, current students, and faculty/staff members on the financial aid application process, award policies, and associated rights and procedures.

Review and resolve Professional Judgment requests as it relates to special circumstances and eligibility for financial aid assistance.

Supervise and coordinate the selection, training, evaluation and development of Financial Aid employees.

Assume the duties of the Senior Director in his or her absence.

Prepare correspondence, reports, or other documentation.

Perform other duties as assigned, in addition to other administrative functions.

Financial Aid Counselor

The Financial Aid Counselor has primary responsibility for strategic support of recruitment and retention efforts related to enrollment and revenue goals of the university. S/he works directly with students, parents, guardians, and community-based organizations that are involved in the processes of helping students choose to enroll and persist at the university. The Financial Aid Counselor is responsible for: the effective and compliant management of one or more significant financial aid programs, including understanding federal, state, and institutional regulations and policies associated with each respective program; supporting and deploying policy and procedure development that ensures effective and compliant delivery of funds; articulating those policies and procedures to both internal and external constituents; meeting reporting requirements of the university and governing bodies that are associated with each program. This role is also responsible for understanding and utilizing technical systems to support their work with students and the management of each program for which they are responsible, including but not limited to Banner, Argos, Xtender, and program-specific reporting applications. S/he works as a member of the Financial Aid team to determine annual financial aid awarding processes and procedures and to create proactive outreach initiatives regarding financial file completion, financial literacy, and financial planning to a variety of internal and external constituents. S/he creates and supports program-specific communication strategies. This person directly influences enrollment yield objectives and revenue at the university and has significant fiscal responsibility given the program(s) managed.

The Systems Analyst will work independently or in conjunction with colleagues to perform analysis of systems and develop solutions to meet the business needs of the university.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
* Perform analysis to assess options and tailor a solution to the identified business need.
