PRIMARY WORK FUNCTION Support Aquatic Life Institute (ALI) in strategic communications and project launches by pitching to key media outlets. ALI is seeking a freelance journalist/public relations specialist who can develop compelling news pieces to pitch to major news outlets, based on ALI’s newest projects and publications. This is a freelance position, though we are looking to establish a long-lasting relationship with the right candidate with whom we can continue working on future projects.

The Managing Director will be tasked with creating strategic focus for the organization and ensuring the team is well-resourced and able to fulfill our goals and commitments. The Managing Director will be a roll-up-their-sleeves type of leader prepared to do whatever needs to get done within our small but mighty nonprofit. They will also hold relationships with our major funding partners, working with the Founder to ensure the ongoing financial sustainability of the organization.
