The Aquaculture Technical Support Advisor supports ongoing maintenance and development of the Marine and Aquaculture Research Facilities (MARF) to ensure researchers and students can perform experiments effectively in any of the facility’s controlled environmental laboratories or the outdoor saltwater and freshwater systems.
The Aquaculture Technical Support Advisor assists and advises researchers and students on design, implementation and setting up of experiments. The incumbent provides technical support to ensure ongoing availability and optimal operation of water systems and aquariums for research and experiments. The incumbent conducts mechanical repairs including welding, plumbing, pump repairs and pipe fitting.

The incumbent will undertake technical, administrative and maintenance duties to support the delivery of educational programs and research capabilities of OIRS.
The Station Officer will provide logistical and administrative support for teaching and research activities, liaises with stakeholders and assists in ensuring safe and productive boating and diving activities, including oversight and approval of dive plans.
