Barts Health NHS Trust Highly Specialised Paediatric Respiratory Physiotherapist - Band 7 An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 paediatric respiratory physiotherapist to join the forward think... ing, innovative paediatric physiotherapy team at The Royal London Children’s Hospital within Barts Health. The post holder will be responsible for the management of inpatients with respiratory conditions requiring physiotherapy aged 0-17 years. They will act as a highly specialist source of expertise in the respiratory management of patients with non-CF bronchiectasis, PCD, Neuromuscular conditions (including SMA), Tracheostomies and long term ventilation, NIV and other respiratory diseases . They will also provide a highly specialist role in respiratory clinics, including non-CF bronchiectasis clinic and PCD clinic, and will manage an outpatient caseload. They will be supported by the PICU band 8a and two other band 7s and work closely with the rest of the paediatric respiratory physiotherapy team. They will also provide supervision to the acute respiratory band 6 physiotherapist and will provide cross cover to PICU, NICU, CF and the children’s community respiratory physiotherapy team, as per the needs of the service, including late shifts, weekend working and on calls. This post involves working within the experienced paediatric therapy team which is a friendly, pro-active department committed to evidence based practice, and covers all specialties within paediatrics. The post will include opportunities for service development, research, education and teaching. We are committed to CPD and will work with you to further your skills and experience. The department offers excellent in-service training (twice weekly) and supervision.

This service is delivered from a variety of locations across Sunderland, and is based at the Children’s Centre on Durham Road, Sunderland.
The successful applicant will
Demonstrate proven clinical expertise within their chosen speciality and be able to demonstrate clinical reasoning skills within paediatrics Be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of childhood conditions particularly in the areas of Musculo-skeletal conditions / DCD/ Cerebral Palsy/ Neurodevelopmental Disorders, all in respect of the developing child. Be responsible for an outpatient clinical caseload, the management of a special school nursery and individual therapy sessions, working within a variety of settings.
You will be required to meet the travel requirements of this post.
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a large team with other specialist clinicians.
This post will be subject to satisfactory DBS check at enhanced level and HCPC registration
Key requirements:
A good working knowledge and experience of the Bobath approach; Experience of working in an MSK outpatient setting; A working knowledge of Education Health and Care Plans ’s ( Children and Families Act 2014) and report writing; Knowledge of safeguarding issues. The ability to work both within a Physiotherapy and wider team is essential
