Interest and/or experience in developing interdisciplinary specialty programs is desirable, but not required. Specific program needs include HPB, Solid Tumor, and Colorectal and Bowel Management. The HPB Program will be supported by the only pediatric gastroenterologists skilled in advanced endoscopy in the region who have extensive experience in anomalies of the pancreaticobiliary junction, pancreatitis, and choledochal cysts. The Colorectal Program will be supported by the only motility program in south Texas.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Rounding on inpatients (surgical and trauma patients)
• Outpatient clinic post-op follow-ups and same day urgent appointments
• Perform and/or assist with minor procedures and assist in operating room as your time/interest allows
• Pediatric Surgery/Trauma Call: Available to come to hospital and answer calls from nursing staff and families from 6am-6am the day of your call shift. Average number of call shifts is 4 per month. Must live within 30 minutes of hospital.
REQUIREMENTS
Physician Assistant - Either completion of a Physician Assistant program and an Associate's degree, Bachelor's or Master’s degree preferred. NCCPA required.
Nurse Practitioner - Active CA RN license. Graduation of a Nurse Practitioner program and a Master's degree. Open to both Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (PNPs) or Family Nurse Practitioners (FNPs). Nurse Practitioner National Certification is required within six (6) months of hire or transfer into position. Minimum of three (3) years related experience required.
Both positions require - Experience in pediatrics and/or surgery highly desirable. Basic Life Support (BLS) is required within 30 days of hire or transfer into position. Must successfully complete the credentialing process through the Medical Staff office.
POSITION DETAILS: Part time (64 hours), benefited, exempt level position. Call is required and shared on rotation.
PAY RANGE: $59.00 - $94.00 + call pay stipend
