Ideally, we seek a med-psych trained physician to lead the development of a combined residency program. Clinically, the faculty member will work in the hospital division on the consultation-liaison service as the program develops.

The UNMC Department of Psychiatry is comprised of over 35 faculty members. We have an accredited residency program in general psychiatry, addiction medicine fellowship, and post-doctoral fellowship programs in adult, child and adolescent, and geriatric psychiatry.

The Department of Family Medicine and Department of Psychiatry at Boston Medical Center and Boston University School of Medicine are recruiting for a part-time to full-time physician with combined training in Family Medicine and Psychiatry.
 
Boston Medical Center (BMC) is the largest “safety net” hospital system in Massachusetts and serves a diverse population of new immigrants and minorities from Boston and neighboring communities. The Family Medicine and Psychiatry combined residency program at BMC is a
5-year ACGME accredited program and is the only FM-Psych residency program in the Northeast. The program has just graduated its first class and now have a full complement of 10 residents (2 per year). BMC is also home to vibrant training programs in Adult Psychiatry and Family Medicine, as well as many other residency and fellowship training opportunities.
 
Candidates should have an interest in taking an active training role with our combined residents. Diverse clinical and educational roles are available within both departments, including: ambulatory roles in our affiliated neighborhood health centers, inpatient and ambulatory positions (in both departments) at Boston Medical Center, and integrated behavioral health in our FM training site. Both departments have active and ongoing research initiatives and would welcome someone with interest in developing an area of research.
