Pets Under Police Security (PUPS) is a division of the Maple Grove Police Department that serves the cities of Maple Grove, Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Champlin, Crystal, New Hope, Plymouth, and Robbinsdale. PUPS is a dedicated animal facility for strays and lost pets that are recovered or turned over to law enforcement agencies. PUPS acts as a holding center for lost animals, bite quarantine and dangerous dog holds, assists owners with reclaiming their pets, and helps coordinate the transfer of unclaimed pets to rescues. Kennel Attendant
Town of Islip Animal Shelter
Job responsibilities include but not limited to feeding and cleaning a variety of animals mainly dogs, cats, and rabbits. Cleaning of the building, laundry, and dishes. You will help out with vaccines, blood draws, surgery, and euthanasia. Talking to the public to help with reuniting them with their animal or adoption.

This is a very physical job. On your feet the majority of the day. Should be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds by yourself and over 50 pounds with help. Experience not needed.

You will be working weekends and holidays on a rotating basis. Hours are 8a-430pm. You get 2 15 minute breaks and 1 30 minute break. Excellent health insurance plus eye and dental. Excellent PTO benefits that increase yearly.

The City of Norfolk’s Department of General Services, Animal Care Center is seeking a Full Time Animal Caretaker who will be responsible for the daily care and maintenance of shelter animals. Duties include daily feeding, cleaning, watering, and socialization of various animals, assist customers with the pet adoption process, and provide assistance to customers looking for a lost pet.

Essential Functions
Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

Cleans and maintains animal enclosures in a sanitary manner.
Maintains overall shelter organization and cleanliness throughout the workday.
Ensures that outside walkways and runs are clean.
Provides the highest quality animal care through feeding, watering, socializing, and offering various forms of enrichment.
Observes animals for signs of illness; monitors sick or injured animals and assists with vet-prescribed treatment.
Assists the public with animal surrender or locating a lost pet.
Assists the public with selecting a companion for adoption.
Requires ability to read and understand standard operating procedures.
Ability to stand for long periods; to bend, crouch, and/or kneel repeatedly; to lift and carry a minimum 50 pounds.
Ability to read adoption contracts, registration cards, cage or kennel cards, and medical sheets or prescription dosage on medications for the animals.
Ability to write adoption contracts, quarantine and euthanasia paperwork, complete registration cards and time slips.
Ability to perform general math calculations.

This position is responsible for managing all aspects of the county’s animal services department and reports directly to the County Mayor. Hardin county animal services provides canine and feline services (including vouchers for community spay/neuter services) to all of Hardin County. Typical animal intake is 1200-1500 per year and is running at over 90% live release at this time. Director is responsible for the Physical building with dog kennels, cat enclosures, play yard, vehicles, 2 full-time ACOS, and multiple part-time kennel staff and front desk personnel.

Hardin County is a wonderful county of around 26,000 people with a river and lake that draw visitors year around along with both Shiloh National Battlefield and Pickwick State Park. We are a mostly rural agricultural community away from the city hustle and bustle, but are only 2-hours from Nashville and Memphis and an hour from Jackson, TN if you want to enjoy city life for a visit!
