Manager of Economic Development
Coast Funds
Coast Funds is seeking a Manager of Economic Development to work in partnership with First Nations to cultivate and develop proposals into start-ups, joint ventures, strategic acquisitions, and infrastructure project opportunities.

As a key member of a small and highly collaborative team, the Manager will work closely with First Nations leaders, their technical staff, Coast Fund colleagues, and project partners.

Reporting to the CFO, as the Manager of Economic Development, you bring your:

Business planning and relationship building skills to cultivate and prepare proposals with First Nations for Coast Funds’ investment annual target investment of $2.5 million into economic development opportunities.
Risk management experience to conduct and manage the due diligence process for all economic development project funding applications and providing recommendations to the Project Review Committee for their funding decisions (Find out more here).
Impact reporting experience to lead Coast Funds’ work in analyzing the wellbeing outcomes and long-term impacts from project investments (Find out more here).
Development experience to support the CEO, the CFO and the Director of Development with proposal writing, community and business engagement, and board briefings.
Who You Are

Coast Funds is seeking a professional who has demonstrated an understanding and passion for community economic development – we can see that passion in the work you have done to date.

You have completed a bachelor’s degree in business, commerce or economics with a few years of work experience reviewing and creating business plans.
You are familiar with First Nation communities, building relationships and supporting the development of community-owned businesses and entrepreneurs.
You are naturally analytically inclined with proven experience in analyzing large data, forecasting, and budgeting.
You are a team player who can be easily leaned on your financial analysis acumen.

Economic And Business Development Coordinator

The Community & Partner Engagement department is looking for a temporary full time Economic and Business Development Coordinator for approximately one year.

Reporting to the Manager, Economic Development, this position will support the strategic goals of the City and the implementation of our Economic and Business Development priorities. Specific responsibilities include project management and implementation related to pandemic recovery support to businesses; project support to improvement of business services, company retention and expansion; economic analysis and development of partnership projects with key stakeholders. This position may also have responsibility for developing briefing papers, research reports, and policy development.
