Communications Director

Dream Defenders is seeking an experienced communicator with organizing and supervisory experience for its position of Communications Director. Our Communications Director will be responsible for developing our communications strategy; political and cultural outreach; managing the Communications Department; ensuring communications are a central tenet of all aspects of our work; and collaborating with our partners.
The Communications Director will be a senior level communications professional with strong management skills and experience overseeing media relations, digital media, creative content, cultural outreach and narrative development strategies. In addition to driving the vision of the department, the Communications Director will be a member of Dream Defenders’ Leadership Team and will collaborate on shaping and advancing organization-wide practices and strategies that position the organization to do impactful work and grow Dream Defenders into a national political home for Black people

The Vice President: Policy leads the organization’s policy and legislative work federally and for California state across these three core issue areas: ensuring economic and social justice, strengthening our democracy, and championing a healthy climate and environment. This position will specialize in economic & social justice policy. This position is an exempt position. This position performs some similar responsibilities on behalf of a 501(c)(4) sister organization focused on building relationships with and electing progressive candidates with a focus on under-represented communities.

Federal Political Manager

Fundraising & Grants Manager
One Pennsylvania
The Fundraising & Grants Manager (FGM) is responsible for leading the overall strategy and execution of fundraising to resource OnePA’s mission and work. This position reports to OnePA’s Development Director.
Key Responsibilities
70% - Grants Management & Donor Development
● Develop resource strategy for private and public foundation funding
and other resources generated from the philanthropic sector
● Identify, cultivate, and grow a robust pipeline of grant opportunities
● Write, customize, and update compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, concept papers, grant reports, and funder communications
● Research and engage with new funding prospects and current
20% - Digital Fundraising & Individual Giving
● Develop and implement individual giving strategy for digital fundraising program and campaigns
● Liaise with communications team to generate online donations via portals including the OnePA website and social media platforms, and external platforms
● Manage grant and reporting calendars in order to comply with all proposal and grant requirements; ensure fundraising information is updated in a timely manner in OnePA’s customer relationship
management (CRM) platform
● Define and improve documentation processes, procedures and policies for fundraising in collaboration with the Systems Manager
● Standardize templates and language of all fundraising-related documents, including proposals, reports, and acknowledgements in collaboration with Communications Team
