An opportunity to serve the practical theology community through the Trust that owns the journal Practical Theology. A good way to gain insights into the world of academic publishing.
Role description
Receive income from the publisher and other sources.
Make payments approved by the Trustees.
Monitor income and expenditure reconciling it to bank records.
Create simple Income and Expenditure accounts for annual Trustee meeting and arrange to have them inspected if necessary.
Keep the information on the Charity Commission website up to date.
Report on the finances of the charity at the annual Trustees meeting.
Be willing to serve as a Trustee of the charity for a term of three years.
Handover from existing Treasurer as soon as available.

Role description
Call, prepare papers, arrange logistics and take minutes for the annual meeting of the Trustees.
Liaising with Chair, Treasurer, Editor and Publisher to ensure the Trustees have the information they need.
Servicing the recruitment of new Trustees, ensuring they have a copy of the constitution, accounts and information about the responsibilities of Trusteeship.
Servicing the recruitment of new members of the editorial team.
Ensuring a good line of communication between the publisher and the Trustees and where necessary ensuring updates to the agreement between the Trust and the publisher.
Option 1 - become a Trustee and serve for one or two three-year terms.
Option 2 - undertake the task for an honorarium without becoming a Trustee.
Shadow existing secretary from January 2024 taking over in March 2024 for an agreed term.

Expertise on Spiritual Abuse is provided by Lisa Oakley who is the secondary supervisor. I am looking for someone who has worked with participant stories as theological texts and who has some insight into the practices and inner-working of the Church of England
