Director of Community Engagement and Inclusive Excellence

The Director of Community Engagement and Inclusive Excellence will oversee the development of the UMass Boston Athletics & Recreation community engagement program. This program will entail initiatives that focus on the planned engagement of UMass Boston athletic teams in the surrounding community and of the intentional engagement of external community partners with UMass Boston athletics and recreation through the use of UMass Boston athletic and recreation facilities to meet partners’ programming needs. Associate Director- Marketing & Fan Experience

JOB DUTIES:

Planning & Development: Leads creation of sport-specific marketing plans through cross-department collaboration with ticketing, communications and creative teams. Develop methods to grow program awareness, generate revenue, and grow ticket sales for Women’s Basketball, Men’s Soccer and Softball. Plan all aspects of game presentation and the fan experience for upcoming seasons.

Implementation & Execution: Create and track all marketing efforts, adjusting to pre- and in-season needs to drive ticket sales (where applicable) and attendance.

Responsible for all aspects of game presentation, including script writing, in-game and halftime entertainment, national anthem singers, videoboard content, music, recognitions, etc. Continuously assess and address improvement areas to the gameday experience.

Supervision & Leadership: Oversee and coordinate the student unpaid internship program, including recruiting, training and programming for approximately 25 undergraduate students. Opportunity to mentor a marketing graduate assistant position.

Special Event Management: Schedule interns, create unique fan attractions, and fulfill sponsorship requirements in conjunction with special events such as Football Fan Day, Tiger Wonderland, Basketball preseason events, and others.

Student Organization Liaison: Work with student groups to coordinate theme days throughout the year that will increase student attendance at Clemson sporting events.
