Tutor Position:
The Rectory School has an opening for a full-time Tutor in our middle school (grades 5-9). In addition to tutoring and coaching responsibilities, the successful candidate is expected to serve as a dorm parent in one of the school residences. A desire to work with middle school students is essential. Experience with student-centered teaching and having experience working with students with specific learning differences is preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities
Provide one-on-one and small-group support/instruction for students
Make regular assessments of student achievement and progress.
Report regularly on student achievement and progress.
Meet with individual parents as necessary to discuss the progress of their children.
Assist with the writing of individual learning plans that will target pupils’ specific curricular/learning needs.
Support teachers with learning support and assessment accommodations.
Develop and maintain communication and documentation protocols related to learning support.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in special education or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, admin, and parents.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing.
Positive attitude, flexible approach, and a sense of humor.

The Rectory School’s 138-acre rural campus provides a scenic and secure home to approximately 270 students covering the ages from Pre-K to 9th grade. Rectory is a coeducational institution at all levels. The 5th – 9th grade junior school has approximately 210 students 145 of which are boarding students. These students come to Rectory from all around the United States and from nine different countries. Average class size is 10 and the student teacher ratio is 4:1.

Early Childhood Teaching Resident
