The Senior Analyst for Labor Market Research applies their knowledge of North Carolina’s economy and workforce and economic development systems to research projects that assist state and local customers. This position will work with public and private labor market, economic, demographic, and education data in their analysis. They will anticipate the challenges of a diverse set of customers and search for creative solutions to address their needs. The Senior Analyst will be charged with delivering written briefs, articles, and blog postings; making attractive visualizations; creating new labor market information products; and conducting presentations and trainings of complex concepts and tools in simple and effective terms.

The types of projects the Senior Analyst for Labor Market Research may be involved in include:
Conducting analyses of the workforce, communities, or industries to inform leaders of economic conditions and trends.
Creating career information products to educate students, jobseekers, and educators about future workforce needs.
Researching economic and workforce development policies in support of the goals of the Department of Commerce and the state's First in Talent Strategic Plan.
This position is housed in the Labor and Economic Analysis Division (LEAD) of the NC Department of Commerce and supports the economic, community, and workforce development of the state. LEAD is the state's premiere resource to labor market, workforce, and economic data, analysis, and insights.

Recruitment Salary Range: $52,875.00 - $72,047.00
