Support Worker, Sanctuary

In this position you will be responsible for assisting in the care of women, with or without babies, who enter the Sanctuary Stabilization Program by ensuring they have a safe and... clean place to find direction and assistance. You may be making referrals for housing, clothing, shelter and recovery, which could include: organizing and participating in program activities with residents; driving and accompanying residents to appointments and/or meetings; and providing care for infants when asked. As a ministry position, your personal knowledge and experience of the saving work of Jesus Christ will be an opportunity to pray and provide spiritual support to residents. If you have related work or volunteer experience, can successfully set healthy boundaries with demanding individuals and those in crisis, and possess a class 5 driver’s license, this might be a great opportunity for you. You will frequently deal with clients in crisis situations, brought about by diverse problems. There will be other staff nearby to assist as required.

You will providing administrative and logistical support in a timely, efficient, and grace-filled manner. You will need well-developed interpersonal skills to interact with and supervise others in a way that displays respect, tact, and diplomacy. If you are a godly individual with a heart to serve the Sanctuary program participants and staff, have post-secondary education combined with several years of related experience, and have advanced computer skills, then this role might be the perfect fit.

You may encounter clients in crisis situations, brought about by diverse problems. There will be other staff nearby to assist as required.

This is an auxiliary (4-month), full-time contract.

Do you enjoy providing emotional and relational support, encouraging others in their faith? Do you excel at administrative tasks as well as developing excellent rapport with other... s? Are you able to multi-task; work well under pressure; work collaboratively in a team; and function independently? If so, this might be a great fit! In this position you will use your well-developed interpersonal skills to greet and assist program tenants, participants, and community members, handling tenant inquiries and concerns in a timely manner and providing problem-solving as needed. You will also employ your outstanding communication skills to provide emotional and relational support, fostering a climate of grace and forgiveness, and providing administrative support to the other branches. If you have a vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus, a diploma or certificate in human sciences, 2 years of related experience in abstinence-based housing, and a proven track record of punctuality and reliability, we want to hear from you!

Are you able to build rapport easily with others and passionate about fostering a climate of inclusion, grace, and forgiveness? If so, this might be a great fit! In this position you will assist in ensuring a safe hygienic, and supportive environment for tenants as they navigate living independently. This involves assisting with referrals, childminding, attending appointments, program activities, and assistance with daily routines. You will also have opportunities to use your excellent communication and teamwork skills to help organize and participate in program activities, offering ideas and resources when appropriate. If you have a vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus, a diploma or certificate in human sciences, 2 years of related experience in abstinence-based housing, and a class 5 driver’s license, we want to hear from you!
