The Student Success Analyst provides research and analytic support for campus initiatives and programs related to student success and graduation initiatives. This includes the development of detailed study plans, collection and synthesis of quantitative and qualitative data, and presentation of findings to inform institutional planning and decision-making in the areas of student success, educational equity, and social mobility. The incumbent works closely with colleagues and stakeholders to conduct extensive inquiry and analysis, provide recommendations, and produce timely reports on the effectiveness of relevant strategies, programs, and initiatives. The incumbent consults broadly with internal and external constituents to advise on the collection, interpretation, and use of data, and represents the Office of Institutional Planning & Analysis on various university committees and workgroups as assigned. Strategic Research Analyst
CSU Sacramento
The Strategic Analyst assists the lead with data-informed, university-wide strategic decision-making to improve student success, institutional effectiveness, and strategic planning. The Strategic Analyst assists in identifying key program and policy areas where data-informed analysis guides the design, data collection, statistical methods, project management, staff training, report generation, and information dissemination related to all Sacramento State and CSU system-wide research projects. Daily work assignments include research, data analysis, evaluation, and reporting related to student success and institutional effectiveness initiatives and programs.
This position designs and implements analytic processes and methodologies that lead to insightful, reliable, and meaningful summations on assigned programs and projects. The Strategic Analyst works closely with a variety of campus managers, faculty, and staff, as well as with CSU Chancellor’s Office staff, to ensure the successful and timely delivery of all phases of assigned projects. In many cases, these projects culminate in the delivery of reports, presentations, and/or publications to various audiences, including other experts in institutional research and campus communities at large.
