WIC Lactation Consultant Contractor
Sacramento County WIC Program
Sacramento County WIC Program is looking for a Lactation Consultant to work with our First 5 Sacramento grant funded Community Lactation Assistance Project as an independent contractor. This contract ends June 30, 2023 with the possibility to renew as grant funding remains available.
Hours: 32-40 hours per week; not to exceed 870 hours in fiscal year 2022-2023
Rate: $30-35 per hour; Based on experience as a Lactation Consultant
IBCLC is responsible for but not limited to:
- Conducting consultations with normal and complex lactation issues (i.e. babies with poor latch, low supply, moms with mastitis, etc.)
- Providing phone, video, and face to face consultations, either in the office or in the mother’s home
- Training and mentoring breastfeeding support staff and WIC staff
- Assisting with monthly in-service trainings
- Documenting consult notes and forms in applicable program databases

Contra Costa County is recruiting volunteers for the Breastfeeding Warmline. Time Commitment is less than 30 minutes, 2-4 days per month.
