Lactation Consultant

The Lactation Consultant will collaborate with other members of the health care and WIC teams to ensure the promotion, protection, and support of lactation feeding. They will provide direct patient/participate care for the lactating client and infant. Join the Kaiser South Sacramento Outpatient Lactation Team as an on-call Lactation Consultant! Located in the Newborn Care Center, our Outpatient Lactation Team supports the transition from hospital to home during infants' initial Pediatric visits and continues to provide lactation support as needed. In collaboration with other Health Care Providers, the Outpatient Lactation Consultant provides lactation education/support/promotion prenatally through postpartum. The IBCLC provides in-person and telehealth visits, involving assessment, evaluation and lactation planning.

With a small but mighty team, this position ideates projects, programs, and collaborations to support the California WIC program staff and population through our state association initiatives. You will increase awareness of the organization and its mission as the chief spokesperson of the organization; you will you get to know hundreds of WIC staff, state and federal representatives and officials, and public health partners across California through CWA’s working partnerships. Our office is in West Sacramento, but this position can be fully or partially remote, with full-time residence in California required. This position includes some in and out-of-state travel.
