As a Summer Health Officer, you will be managing Northern Tier’s first aid office, responding to medical situations both in person and via radio, as well as coordinating staff on-call schedules. You work directly with the staff to ensure that all of our scouts have the safest experience possible. You’ll have the opportunity to gain valuable experience coordinating emergency response and logistics as well as honing your first aid skills in a challenging and exciting setting.

21 or older.

Wilderness First Responder or above training, Northern Tier will pay course fees if needed once hired.

The Retail Coordinator works directly with the Retail and Operations Manager to assist in scheduling, training,
sales and some routine buying. This position is regularly required to open/close the store. Two Saturdays per
month as well as some evenings and holidays are required.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates retail scheduling, training, and sales
- Becomes knowledgeable about all products to ensure excellent sales and customer service

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) is recruiting a seasonal apiary inspector - Limited Term Employee (LTE) for southern Wisconsin. The position will work an average of 40 hours / week seasonally beginning approximately June 6, 2021 and ending approximately October 31, 2021. Mileage reimbursed. This position will function under the general supervision of the Section Manager and Wisconsin State Apiarist. The principal duties are to implement the Plant Industry Bureau’s apiary program functions outlined in Wis. Stat. 94.76 and ATCP 21.13, including inspecting honey bee hives and ensuring compliance with apiary import regulations. The inspectional duties of this position involve detecting established and exotic honey bee pests and diseases of concern to the apiary industry, as well as providing outreach on pest and disease management and pollinator protection.

This position requires at least 2 years of beekeeping experience (including strong working knowledge of honey bee biology, honey bee pests and diseases and hive management); coursework OR a degree in entomology, biology, or closely related field; frequent field work and travel (including some overnights); proficiency with computers; the ability to work independently in remote areas; and excellent communication skills.
