Manager, Federal and State Business Development

As an integral member of the Business Development (BD) team, the Manager, Federal and state Business Development coordinates SEPA’s efforts to cultivate new and maintain existing partnerships and projects with federal and state government agencies, including the U.S. Departments of Energy, Interior, Agriculture, Transportation, and others, as well as targeted state energy offices (SEOs). The Manager of Federal/State BD shares responsibility for securing the organization’s annual revenue goals from a diverse mix of sources and reports to the Vice President of BD, while coordinating with other parts of the organization to identify, track, qualify, and pursue state and federal funding opportunities.

The salary range for this position is $74,000 to $110,000 with the target range being around $90,000 based on experience.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (or comparable life experience) and 5+ years of relevant work experience, including at least 3 years of business development experience with federal/state agencies, with a proactive and entrepreneurial approach, preferably in the nonprofit sector
Proven track record of setting and achieving fundraising targets and cultivating federal/state relationships to position an organization for funding
Significant experience successfully managing capture and proposal development teams on federal and state opportunities
Effective project management, operational, analytical, and personnel management skills
Exceptional interpersonal, networking, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
