Policy Advocacy Manager

Under the supervision of the Director of the Policy and Community Building Department, the Policy Advocacy Manager will be responsible for managing the Center’s priority policy advocacy efforts, which includes developing policy strategies, providing strategic campaign management, policy analysis, and engaging with external stakeholders. In addition, this position will manage the Center’s efforts regarding LBTQ women’s health policy, immigration reform policy, and older adult advocacy. The position is an essential part of the Center’s Policy and Community Building Department.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This full-time, exempt position is based in Santa Maria, CA with significant travel to mobile service sites throughout the county. The Health Prevention Manager reports to the Program Manager and focuses on HIV/ Hep-C testing, education, and early intervention, including PrEP navigation and syringe services programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

*Oversee all aspects of the Health & Prevention program in collaboration with the Program Manager.
*Manage part-time Health & Prevention Coordinator.
*Provide supervision and oversight of all testing volunteers and interns.
*Support grants and fundraising events for HIV testing and education.
*Maintain effective working relationships with outside service providers, donors and community partners.
*Testing Support – Spanish English, and Mixtec-speaking audiences.
*Manage testing operations, including developing quality and compliance plans and reports, ordering and maintaining testing supplies, data collection and maintenance, licensure, and logistics.
*Ensure all contractual reporting requirements are met in a timely fashion.
*Manage data related to HIV/Hep C testing, PrEP navigation, syringe services, and Narcan distribution.
*Oversee all HIV/Hep C testing, outreach and events in Santa Barbara County including weekly in Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, Isla Vista, and Lompoc.
*Manage client intake, paperwork, data entry, and more, at off-site testing events and during weekly on-site testing hours.
*Counseling clients about harm reduction tactics re: injection drug usage.
*Implement best practices for testing including harm reduction/risk reduction for vulnerable populations.

This part-time, 20 hours/week position is based in Santa Maria, CA with significant travel to mobile service sites throughout Santa Barbara County. The Health Prevention Coordinator reports to the Health Prevention Manager as part of the Health Prevention and team. This position focuses on HIV/Hep-C testing, education, and early intervention, including PrEP navigation and syringe services programs and strategies designed to reach those served by our opioid response programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

HIV & Hep C Testing

*Enter data related to HIV/Hep C testing.
*Communicate and collaborate regularly with the Health Prevention Manager.
*Assist with client intake, introductory paperwork and testing at events off-site — and on-site during testing appointments.
*Be currently, or become certified in HIV & Hep C testing and test counseling.
*Inform and provide clients resources about PrEP; refer to PrEP provider.
*Counseling clients about harm reduction tactics re: injection drug usage.

Opioid Response:

*Support PPF’s Syringe Exchange 2 – 3 days/evenings per week, out of our Health Utility Vehicle, at locations throughout Santa Barbara County. This includes: volunteer training and management; safe collection and disposal of used syringes; harm reduction counseling; directly working with clients who are under the influence.
*Order and organize all syringe services supplies.
*Complete data entry for Health Prevention Programs.
*Prepare Naloxone supplies kits for distribution to clients and partner organizations.
*Train syringe exchange and other interested clients and partner organizations on administering Narcan and using Fentanyl testing strips.

COVID-19 Vaccination Manager

This position is a temporary position, created to manage COVID-19 vaccine and resource navigation, health education, and general outreach to increase COVID-19 vaccination in the Sacramento Region. The Manager will support an outreach campaign by supervising the distribution of basic information about the COVID-19 vaccine, assisting with scheduling community members for COVID-19 vaccination appointments, managing on-site COVID-19 testing, and helping to coordinate COVID-19 resources. The campaign will prioritize LGBTQ+ communities with an emphasis on Black, Indigenous, and other people of color. This position requires flexible hours including weekend and evening events (through June 30, 2022).

Events Director
Sacramento LGBT Community Center
The Events Director will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for the development, planning, execution, and evaluation of all Sacramento LGBT Community Center events including Sacramento Pride, Q-Prom, our signature fundraising and programmatic events, some advocacy activities, and coordination of 3rd party fundraising and community engagement events. The successful candidate will have prior experience producing large-scale events, a track record of engaging diverse community partners, an entrepreneurial spirit, and employ a high level of precision in executing a detail oriented logistical planning.

This position reports to the Chief Development & External Affairs Officer and works in partnership with Development and Program staff, interns, volunteers, stakeholders, as well as directly with community members of diverse backgrounds. This work of this position supports the organization’s objective to build a culturally rich LGBTQ+ community in order to create a region where LGBTQ+ people thrive.

Chief Development & External Affairs Officer
Sacramento LGBT Community Center
The Chief Development & External Affairs Officer serves as senior level strategic and visionary development leader for our rapidly growing agency. They are responsible for developing the agency’s development and external communication strategy and overseeing all of the private fundraising and external community engagement functions of the agency including annual giving and corporate giving, foundation grants, special events, communications and marketing, volunteer management, and planned giving. The Center’s Development Division is responsible for fundraising nearly $2 million to support the Center’s many programs and services that are not financially supported by government grants. This position has direct responsibility for donor relationship management, major gifts, supporting the completion of a $5.5 million capital campaign currently underway, and leadership of a growing staff and volunteer team.
