Desktop Administrator

NorthWinds Technology Solutions is a new technology company developed from two industry leaders in Dental Insurance: Delta Dental of Illinois and Delta Dental of Wisconsin.  The Desktop Administrator’s role is to create, update, and deploy laptop and pc images to end user workstations within the corporate network. Additionally, they will be responsible for the automation of user creation tasks as well as rights delegation within Active Directory. The Desktop Administrator will also work to create third party software packages for remote and automated installation on end user workstations. In addition, they will create and maintain the patching process for these third-party packages. This 40 hour per week position will be at our Naperville, IL office, and will play an important role in deploying desktop stations and laptops to our Illinois office.  This role will require both strong technical and communication skills, as this role will interact frequently with various levels of our organization and client groups. 

Additionally, this role will:

Provision new and replacement laptops, pcs and servers 
Maintain standard laptop/pc images in line with industry best practices
Manage process for distributed rights management and delegated administrative access to workstations and servers
Run new user orientation sessions
Serve as an escalation point for the resolution of help desk tickets relating to workstations, servers and network equipment
Collaborate with other IT team members and business users to resolve common issues with user workstations, servers and network equipment
