The successful candidate will be expected to design and evaluate experiments, prepare and publish significant research findings, and train and supervise other research staff.  Research experience in small animal preclinical imaging, particularly ultrasound and/or photoacoustic imaging, is preferred. Postdoctoral researcher - UBC spine biomechanics modeling

Do you want to change the way spinal surgeries are conducted? The HCT laboratory and OIBG group at the University of British Columbia are seeking a talented researcher with skills needed for investigating patient-specific biomechanical modelling approaches of the human spine. We aim to create a clinically useful simulation tool that enhances surgical planning. The post- doctoral fellow will work with our industry and academic partners to create, design and empirically evaluate innovative biomechanical models using the Artisynth platform.

1. Manage and conduct biomechanical modelling research of the spine with an emphasis on
people with spinal deformity;
2. Publish in top-quality journals and conferences;

Cardiovascular Research at Marquette University and the Medical College of Wisconsin is accepting applications for a postdoctoral scholar position. The successful applicant will investigate the contribution of local hemodynamic disturbances from aortic coarctation to chronic vascular remodeling. This work will involve experimental models of disease, processing of medical image data, creation of idealized and subject-specific computational models, and implementation of a computational growth and remodeling
framework.

Applicants must have earned a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical
Engineering, or a related field. Candidates should be proficient in coding,
demonstrate a track record of applying fluid and solid mechanics via CFD/FSI modeling, and have excellent writing and communication skills. Although interaction with clinical and engineering mentors will be frequent, the ideal candidate will be self-motivated and capable of independently directing the project. The initial duration of the position is one year with the possibility of an extension pending substantial progress and availability of funding.

3D biomechanical models of cardiac structures at the cellular, tissue and organ levels. These include the following

3. The effects of pulmonary hypertension on the right ventricle.
