The research project will focus on using deterministic and probabilistic models to simulate nearshore hydro- and morphodynamics, collecting in situ and/or remotely sensed observations, and/or the integration of models and observations to improve model forecasting.

We are looking for a qualified PE with the ability to perform analysis, modeling and design of coastal resilience projects including sea level rise infrastructure assessments; coastal numerical modelling; shoreline protection projects including revetments and living shorelines; and navigation projects including dredging, marinas, and harbors. Responsibilities will also include preparation of proposals including project scope and fee estimates, and project management.

Suitable candidates must possess strong analytical and communication skills and demonstrate familiarity with wave growth and transformation, coastal and estuarine hydrodynamics, littoral processes, sediment transport, marine dredging, and basic geotechnical or structural systems. A keen interest in interdisciplinary and/or cross-sector projects a plus.

Required Qualifications

BS degree in Coastal, Ocean, or Civil (Hydraulic, Geotechnical, or Structural emphasis) Engineering
5+ years of relevant experience (i.e. consulting, construction, research, etc.).
PE License
Strong academic and/or professional experience with: coastal processes, sea level rise, numerical modeling, metocean analysis or naval architecture.
