Amazon Alexa AI - Graduate Research Intern
Amazon
My team at Amazon (Alexa AI) is hiring graduate research interns for 2023 to work on conversational AI. The primary goal is publication, and internship projects will be aligned with research topics my team is actively working on, including:
- Alexa Conversations: Alexa Conversations is a dialogue system that helps Alexa skill developers build skills with reduced effort while allowing dialogues to flow naturally across multiple turns. My team is working on several core components, such as natural language understanding (NLU) models, complex entities (e.g. list of entities, quantified entities), automated metrics for dialogue quality, and dialogue language models.
- Natural Turn Taking: Natural Turn Taking is a special mode of Alexa in which users can talk with Alexa more naturally through barging in, no use of wake words, context switching, and more. My team runs projects on multiparty task-oriented dialogues and dialogue summarization.
- Reasoning: My team runs several projects on enhancing Alexa with reasoning abilities, such as knowledge-based query contextualization and program generation based on temporal information.
