The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of demonstrated success in growing a book of business and building a pipeline. They understand the current and emerging trends in electrification, as well as needs of diverse clients in this area, including those at the Federal, state, local, and regional levels, and issues unique to light-duty vehicles, transit fleets, and medium and heavy duty trucks. They are highly skilled at positioning for, winning, managing, and delivering high quality project work. They are skilled at mentoring staff and building staff capacity to deliver an increasing book of work. They are comfortable discussing issues related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), and can meaningfully engage with communities identified in the Justice40 initiative as it relates to clean transportation investments. Candidates with experience in utility planning and policy, power generation, energy regulation, and electrical engineering are also encouraged to apply.

Working closely with customers, the product team and other Program Managers, the Program Manager is responsible for a new client’s transition from its legacy fare collection system to Umo, providing product/service information, advice on best practices, system training for employees, platform configuration and ongoing service as the primary liaison between the client and the broader Umo. The project also serves as the long-term account manager, supported established clients by answering how-to questions, monitoring, and promoting increased passenger adoption, providing technical support and configuration changes, and introducing new features.
With Umo expanding into Latin America, fluency in Spanish and experience in doing business in Latin America, while not mandatory, will be highly beneficial for this role.

This position plans, develops administers, directs, and manages the continuous evolution of the Maryland fare system, including enhancements of the transit benefits system; an app-based sales system, a Retail Point of Sale system, and the customer autoload system.
