Senior Manager - Settlement Reform System Design

Ofgem's central purpose is to make a positive difference for energy consumers. We are seeking a senior manager with the insight and skills to work with stakeholders to design new systems which will deliver half-hourly settlement of electricity.
Ofgem’s Settlement Reform team is delivering new arrangements for electricity settlement, using accurate data from smart meters. The new systems will support innovation and a smart, flexible energy system which could save consumers billions of pounds off their energy bills in the coming decades – and underpin the transition to a lower-carbon future.
We are looking for someone with excellent judgement and proven experience in policy development or regulatory oversight. You will work closely with stakeholders to design the new systems for electricity settlement, and to oversee their implementation through changes to the industry codes.
The role requires strong leadership, problem solving, influencing and communication skills. You will have familiarity with the GB electricity system, the skills to assess policy and regulatory issues, along with a track record of sound decision-making.

Senior Manager - Smart Metering (Monopoly Regulation)

Ofgem's central purpose is to make a positive difference for energy consumers. We are seeking a senior manager with the insight and skills to hold a monopoly company to account, contributing to the success of the national smart meter rollout.
Our Metering and Market Operations team ensures that consumers can get the best deal out of smart metering. At the heart of the smart metering system is the Data and Communications Company and, as a monopoly, it's vital that there are regulatory controls over the DCC's costs and performance.
We are looking for someone with excellent judgement and a strong analytical foundation (for example as an economist or auditor) to lead our regulatory oversight of DCC, including delivery of an annual ex post price control. You will ensure that there are the right incentives on DCC to perform well.
The role requires strong problem solving, leadership, influencing and communication skills - combined with an eye for detail. You will have the skills to assess policy, regulatory and commercial issues, and will have a track record of sound decision-making.

Senior Manager - Smart Metering (Energy Suppliers)

Ofgem's central purpose is to make a positive difference for energy consumers. We are seeking a senior manager with the insight and skills to oversee energy suppliers' activities as they roll out smart meters.
Our Metering and Market Operations team ensures that consumers can get the best deal out of smart metering. Energy suppliers are tasked with rolling out smart meters to their customers and we oversee both the pace and quality of their activities, making sure their customers have the right experience.
We are looking for someone with excellent judgement and proven experience in policy development or regulatory oversight. You will monitor energy suppliers' activities, identifying where action is needed to secure better outcomes for consumers.
The role requires strong leadership, problem solving, influencing and communication skills. You will have the skills to assess policy, regulatory and compliance issues, and will have a track record of sound decision-making.

Economic Policy Officer

Energy UK is looking for an Economic Policy Officer to join an analytical team with significant influence over policy direction.
The post-holder, reporting to the Economic Policy Manager, will have responsibility for the statistical output of the trade association, ensuring analytical rigor that supports the policy development across the organisation.
This will include economic reporting on market developments, establishing Key Performance Indicators for the energy sector, and working across many of the key policy areas including price regulation, attracting investment in generation and supporting the low carbon transition. There is always ad-hoc work to support the other policy teams as well as the Communication and Media side of the business.
The role will support the post-holder to understand the key issues facing the energy sector, including delivering government’s low carbon objectives at lowest cost whilst ensuring security of supply.
The post-holder will have the opportunity to experience first-hand policy development whilst meeting with senior industry representatives
