Duties & Responsibilities
Program Development
•Develop and implement individualized conditioning programs for student-athletes
•Physical screening/assessment of individual student athletes and implement customized, corrective exercise
•Assess individual student athletes and address any identified mobility limitation
Program Management and Interdepartmental Collaboration
•Assist in managing, supervising, and controlling the operation of the weight room
•Ensure proper maintenance of equipment, including weight machines and other strength and conditioning equipment, including regular inspection, recommendation on repair/replacement as necessary
•Assist in dietary needs of student-athletes; work compatibly and cooperatively with other staff and personnel in all other sports
•Work compatibly and cooperatively with other strength & conditioning staff, team coaches, student-athletes, and personnel

Sports Performance Graduate Assistant

Youngstown State University is looking to fill one Graduate Assistant Sports Performance position. The duties of the Graduate Assistant includes, but are not limited to: designing and implementation of programs for assigned teams, constant evaluation and tracking of athletes, maintenance of weight room, and upholding the YSU Sports Performance standards. The Graduate Assistant will also take part in a designed curriculum to help prepare them for their next step as a full-time Sports Performance Coach.

Graduate Assistant applicants must be accepted and enrolled in master’s level classes at Youngstown State University. Not only is the success of our athletes important but the opportunity to walk away from this experience with a master’s degree is of equal or greater value. This position requires a minimum of 20 hours of work per week on top of classes.

Paid Sports Performance Intern

The Sports Medicine Institute-Sports Performance Intern is a paid internship and is responsible for the
planning, coordination, and application of the Wofford College Strength and Conditioning program to
assigned teams. The candidate will establish working relationships with coaches, administration, athletic
trainers, as well as communicate effectively with student athletes for the delivery of strength and
conditioning services. The candidate must create a professional, safe, positive and effective
environment for Wofford College student athletes. The candidate must participate in staff education
and other departmental activities as requested by the Director of Strength and Conditioning and/or
Sports Medicine Manager.

12 month contract appointment

Professional Intern for Athletic Performance Olympic Sports

Duties/Responsibilities

- Design and implement annual strength and conditioning programs for UGA Cheer.
- Communicate independently with assigned sport coaches and respective sport athletic training staff personnel.
- Assist with the implementation of annual strength and conditioning programs for 2 head count sports and 3 other assigned teams.
- Work in accordance with demands provided by the Athletic Performance Coaching Staff for respective assigned Olympic sports.
- Assist in managing all aspects of the UGAA Olympic Sports strength and conditioning facility and assist with the supervision of the 16,000 square foot weight room.
- Aid in the maintenance of free weights, exercise machines, cardio equipment, and sport science equipment.
- Provide instruction in proper lifting techniques, conditioning modalities, pre-habilitation techniques, and recovery methods.
- Monitor progress of athletes through computer charting and analysis of daily, monthly, and annual training for assigned sport teams and for teams as assigned by staff.
- Gain knowledge in Athletic Performance by assisting with collection and administration of data (Daily Readiness Questionnaires, VALD), training load data (RPE questionnaires, GPS & GymAware) and performance testing for assigned Olympic Sports Teams.

This is a 12-month appointment with no benefits. Salary is $22,000

Requirements:
- A sound knowledge of Olympic Lifting techniques and basic barbell lifts along with their respective teaching techniques are needed.
- Sound functional training skills.
- CSCS and/or CSCCa and CPR certifications; USAW Level I certification preferred.
- Beneficial if you have prior experience with Catapult, VALD, and GymAware implementation and interpretation.
