Digital Content and Narratives Lead
ETC Group
ETC Group is inviting proposals from individuals interested in a freelance contract position. We are seeking a Temporary "Digital Content and Narratives Lead" to join our small team of activist researchers, advocates and communicators for an initial six months period. This position of Temporary Digital Content and Narratives Lead would start immediately and can be based in any location with good internet connection. ETC has existing staff in Philippines (Mindanao), Canada (Quebec and British Columbia), Mexico (Mexico City), UK (London and Sussex) and USA (California Bay Area).

This 6-month contract will focus on supporting narrative strategy activities and generating digital content (particularly on biotechnology and geoengineering topics) as well as maintaining ETC Group's ongoing digital presence, social media and websites. The position may become established as a longer-term position in the future dependent upon funding and resources available but that would involve a further open hire process. The post is located in ETC Group's Communications Team and will be managed by the Communications Coordinator. The contractor will also be expected to liaise with allies in specific other organizations that collaborate with ETC Group.

The Fundraising Program Manager position

They will engage program managers and the board of directors to support fundraising efforts. While watching trends in the charitable sector, they will adapt our programs to these changes. This position is a full-time one, based in Ottawa.

This job is eligible for a salary ranging from $67,484 to $82,547. It also comes with a generous benefits package that includes extended health coverage and retirement planning benefits. All new staff begin with four weeks of vacation, which increases with seniority.

The ED is the principal administrator of QCFC, ensuring its daily activities run smoothly. As such, with the support of the Board and other staff, the ED is responsible for:
- organizational finances, including bookkeeping, invoicing, fundraising and reporting;
- recruitment, orientation and leadership of employees and volunteers;
- organization and implementation of QFC programming;
- program evaluation, annual reports, and statistics collection;
- public relations, including media, organizational publications, website and social media;
- policy and guideline development;
- overseeing general maintenance of the facility;
- maintaining existing partnerships and building others; and
- building a positive environment for staff, volunteers and program users.

Other duties may be assigned by the Board of Directors as the mission and scope of the QFC continues to evolve.

The ideal candidate will have a combination of the following:
- experience in a leadership or management role in a similar non-profit organization;
- an understanding of financial management and experience applying for, implementing and reporting on contribution agreements;
- good communication skills, both written and verbal;
- the ability to demonstrate compassion, openness, flexibility and creativity when working with the general public and within an organization; and
- experience and/or education in the community development or social service sector.

A criminal record check and positive references may be requested. Fluency in Inuktut is an asset. In conformance with Article 23 of the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement, preference will be given to Inuit applicants. The salary is $105,000 per annum. Staff housing is an option.

The Community Worker position supports the resource team in its efforts to provide safe and inclusive
spaces where community members access services, socialize and build networks, and collectively share
and practice new skills.
The Community Worker will work with participants across all of our programs to ensure that they are
supported beyond food relief and linked with Depot and community resources. They will be available to
participants via program visits, one-on-one appointments, and on the phone, and will work with
participants to advocate for themselves and for their communities.
