Clinical Assistant Professor of Dance, Jazz Dance Practices

The Department of Theatre and Dance at the University at Buffalo, State University of New York, invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dance with a specialization in Jazz dance practice. This is a full-time faculty (10 month), renewable term appointment, with an emphasis on teaching, undergraduate recruitment and artistic service. The ideal candidate will have an established/emerging reputation within the multifaceted world of Jazz dance, a student-centered inclusive pedagogy and an interest in contributing their talents to the already established Jazz dance curricular track.

Hi-ARTS seeks an experienced and creative Program Manager to join our growing team. The Program Manager is the administrative and creative liaison to the organization’s external work and relations. This role will maintain the current scope of Hi-ARTS’ projects while thinking in innovative ways to develop new and support existing relationships and curate programming. The Program Manager will lead a newly defined
artistic department including our Curator in Residence and Project Associate. The position reports to the Executive Director. The Program Manager also works closely in collaboration with the General Manager, Development Manager, and Marketing Associate. This is a full time (40 hours per week) salaried position. Salary is $ 60,000 per year. The
position includes medical and dental coverage.

Bridging Education & Art Together
Bridging Education & Art Together (BEAT) is a nonprofit organization located in Queens that offers arts education programs rooted in Hip Hop culture to youth in under-resourced communities and people with disabilities.

BEAT is currently seeking highly skilled, reliable, and purposeful individuals to join our impressive roster of Teaching Artists as a Breakin’/Breakdance instructor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Must be based in NYC or NJ
- Must be a skilled Breaker/Breakdancer
- Must be knowledgeable of Breakin’/Breakdance history
- Must be able to teach the dance form while instilling values of Hip Hop culture
- Must have at least 1 year of consistent experience teaching youth between the ages of 7-17
- Must have a positive attitude and impeccable communication
- Highly motivated and has the ability to take initiative
- Ability to receive and incorporate feedback on performance to improve instruction
- Background and/or interest in working in non‐profit sector, youth communities, and arts education
- Appreciation for Hip Hop culture
- Knowledge and skill in other dance styles is a plus but not required.

COMPENSATION:
$75-$100 per session (45 minute -1 hour sessions)

- All teaching is currently remote with the possibility of shifting to in person beginning in the summer.
