Aquatic Program Specialist

Are you a team-oriented, safety-conscious aquatic enthusiast who is self-motivated and has the confidence to lead the administrative, supervisory, and professional work of various aquatic programs? Conestoga Recreation & Aquatic Center is looking for an aquatic professional to work under the direction of the center supervisor to oversee all aquatic operations within the facility and to ensure seamless lifeguard, instructor and WSI training programs.
The Aquatic Program Specialist focuses on leading a team to create a welcoming and inclusive environment that serves our diverse and multicultural community. The Aquatic Program Specialist also participates in the planning, development and implementation of district-wide aquatic programs, staff training and evaluating the success of these programs.
Successful applicants will have at least five (5) years of experience in aquatic programs and one (1) year of experience providing supervision or work oversight for co-workers, employees, volunteers or other transferable leadership training and/or experience. Bilingual and multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply and THPRD offers a pay incentive for bilingual skills in languages represented in our community.
Key components of the job include (but are not limited to):
• Planning, organizing, and coordinating the activities of District programs or projects;
• Directing and reviewing the work of full-time staff, program staff, volunteers, temporary, and/or contract employees;
• Assist in preparing and administering budget and grant funds.
