Psychologist & Behavioral Health Program Director - School Based Health

We are seeking a psychologist for the role of Behavioral Health Program Director, who will provide clinical care at one clinic as well as oversight of 3 behavioral health clinicians in the other SBHC clinics. Specific responsibilities include diagnostic evaluation, group/individual therapy, consultation with interprofessional teams, screening/referral, and team/parent education. Daily activities will be within the SBHC, while they will be a member of the Division of Psychology. Opportunities for teaching/supervision are encouraged.

Qualifications include a PhD/PsyD and predoctoral internship from APA-accredited programs, and one year postdoctoral experience in a child setting. Applicants must be licensed/license eligible in DE. Psychologists are members of the medical staff at Nemours and are supported with applying for academic appointment at Thomas Jefferson University.

Pediatric Psychology Post-doctoral Fellow

Montefiore’s Pediatric Behavioral Health Integration Program (BHIP) is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Psychology Fellowship in Integrated Primary Care for the current t... raining year. We also will begin accepting applications for next year in 12/2021.

Positions are open to graduates from APA-accredited doctoral psychology programs. This fellowship is for 1 year, with an option for a second year. Fellows provide clinical services in our primary care clinics 3 days per week, with an additional 2 days focused on training and research. Research time involves supporting existing BHIP efforts. Fellows may mentor Master’s psychology students and teach medical students and residents. Fellows are encouraged to join our Staff Emotional Support team to respond to incidents of work-related trauma and stress, promoting Montefiore staff wellness.

The fellowship focuses on providing evidence-based short-term behavioral health services within our network of 20 primary care practices in the Bronx and lower Westchester, which serves patients from ethnic minority, economically disadvantaged, and linguistically diverse families. The objective of the fellowship is to prepare fellows to work in primary care, treating children across the pediatric lifespan (infancy through adolescence) within underserved communities.

BHIP is composed of HealthySteps and Child and Adolescent Psychology and Psychiatry (CAPP). HealthySteps is a mental health promotion program that provides developmental and behavioral support and guidance to families with children aged 0-5 years, through an attachment- and trauma-informed lens. CAPP supports school-aged youth with depression, anxiety, ADHD/disruptive behaviors, and trauma. BHIP coordinates and collaborates with PCPs.

Montefiore is NYC’s health system to earn Distinction in Behavioral Health Integration from the National Committee for Quality assurance (NCQA), one of the nation’s highest honors for treating behavioral needs in primary care.

The Healthy Minds, Healthy Kids program strives toward a fully integrated model of behavioral health in primary care and provides consultative and intervention services in pediatric primary care practices in the CHOP Primary Care Network. The psychologists will be part of the very energetic multi-disciplinary Healthy Minds, Healthy Kids team (Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists, Clinical Social Workers, and Pediatric Psychologists). Each position will be based in one of two primary care practices in the City of Philadelphia (West Philadelphia) or just outside the City. Each practice serves a high proportion of children ensured by Medicaid and is comprised of a team of pediatricians, pediatric nurse practitioners, nurses, and medical assistants who are highly motivated to provide high quality team-based care to patients. The practice outside the city serves a high proportion of Spanish-speaking families, and bilingual psychologists are strongly encouraged to apply. One of the clinics is highly involved in pediatrics residency training, and the psychologist in that location will be expected to be involved in pediatrics residency training.
