With the support of administrators, specialists and teachers, intervene before students are in danger of failing. • Implement targeted interventions for students if academic, social or emotional concerns arise. When designing and implementing these interventions, counselors should engage all necessary stakeholders. • Aid teachers and parents in understanding individual students and assist classroom teachers with students who are particularly at risk. • Conduct individual and small group student counseling and assist students to maximize individual intellectual, emotional and social abilities. • Work with the principals to provide referrals to outside social-emotional services.
