What you'll bring:
Must-haves
5+ years as a Backend developer.
3+ years working with Elixir to build medium to large-scale applications.
Strong knowledge of modern architectural design patterns such as:
Microservices
Event Sourcing
Domain-Driven Design
Event-Driven Architecture
Extensive testing experience (unit, regression, e2e).
Experience with building and integrating REST APIs.
We prefer candidates who have experience using Elixir with Phoenix to build APIs; however, we may consider individuals with strong foundations in other functional languages (e.g. Golang, Rust) or Ruby.
Experience with securing applications.
Knowledge of integrating OAuth2 into backend applications.
Would be nice if they’ve worked with JWTs before.
In general, we want to know that they have experience with securing APIs and understand the tradeoffs between different methods.
Strong SQL skills.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: Architecting and developing new features in our core Elixir application.Expanding & refactoring our current codebase, to make it even better than it already is. Collaborating closely with other developers to make sure the backend-frontend communication is efficient and reliable. Ensuring that the team's output meets highest standards by doing code reviews. Working together with our Engineering and Data Science Specialists to come up with usable and feasible solutions to hard engineering problems, that we face. Improving our tooling so we work efficiently as a team. Taking full ownership of end-to-end projects delivery. We do not micromanage.
YOU ARE A GREAT FIT IF: You are a seasoned developer (3+ years of experience) or an expert (8+ years). You have extensive experience working with Elixir apps. This is not a junior role so it's a must have! You care about the quality and readability of the code you produce. Other developers need to understand it too ;). You are thrilled to solve performance-related problems. You know how to properly handle processing of large amounts of data in the background. You have a good understanding of SQL. You have hands-on experience working with distributed (micro) services architecture. You are excited about the latest trends in web applications. You follow the boy/girl-scout rule.
