Harvard Biostat Postdoc - Health disparities
Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health
The Department of Biostatistics at Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship focused on the development of statistical methods for population health disparities. The postdoctoral fellow will work with Dr. Briana Stephenson and collaborate with a multidisciplinary research team to develop innovative statistical and machine learning methods to address and identify bias and inequities in population health. Areas of interest include: identifying bias in healthcare access and delivery, statistical methods for high-dimensional exposures in minority populations, model-based clustering techniques for understudied populations, and survey sampling methodology for diverse population cohorts. Research applications will utilize data from cancer registries, national survey studies, and large prospective cohort studies. Postdoctoral Fellow, working with Department Chair, Jonathan L. Haines, PhD, focusing on quantitative genomic studies related to Alzheimer’s disease and other neurological disorders. The successful candidate should have a PhD (or equivalent experience) in genetics, genomics, epidemiology, computational biology, bioinformatics, biostatistics, or computer sciences, and have experience or interest in computational, analytical, or statistical genomics research.
The Department of Population & Quantitative Health Sciences (https://case.edu/medicine/pqhs/) and the Cleveland Institute of Computational Biology (http://www.icompbio.net/) provide a strong and supportive intellectual environment for post-doctoral trainees. You will:

Act as either the lead statistician for a project or, depending on the nature of the project, collaborate with a team of biostatisticians.

You have:
A doctoral degree in statistics, biostatistics, or a related field.
Proficiency in a statistical programming language (such as SAS, Stata, or R).
Experience with collaborative research (including creating and maintaining data files, analyzing data, interpreting results, and manuscript writing).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
A strong commitment to statistical collaborations with medical and basic science investigators.
The ability to manage multiple projects, collaborations, and deadlines.
