TRIO Academic Counselor (SSS)
Knox College
Full-time; 12-months - The TRIO academic counselor supports the retention to graduation of a caseload of TRIO students through academic counseling/advising and facilitating workshops and events to enhance students’ personal, financial, career, and leadership development.
• Provide advisement, instruction, assessment, and holistic support to caseload of students
• Develop, promote, present, and/or assess informational workshops and cultural events
• Participate in staff meetings/development
• Coordinate student advisory committee and the TRIO Emerging Leaders Program
• Co-teach a section of TRIO 100 first-year transition course each fall
Associate Director, McNair Scholars Program

As the primary student-facing position, the associate director will provide direct support to McNair scholars enrolled at Knox College and support the executive director in executing all aspects of the funded proposal.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide academic planning and guidance for program participants;
2. Co-teach McNair seminar courses;
3. Assist a diverse pool of participants in graduate school preparation and application;
4. Develop and implement educational programming for current and prospective participants;
5. Manage student employees; and
6. Assist the project director in meeting legislative requirements in program documentation, reporting, and project management.
Academic Coordinator

The Academic Coordinator, Upward Bound primarily focuses on the recruitment and retention of high school students for the Upward Bound program. Operating within each of the 3 target schools on a weekly basis, the Academic Coordinator maintains close contact with the target schools’ administration, liaisons, counselors, and students and oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Upward Bound curriculum including weekly meetings, Saturday Sessions, and individual student advising. The Academic Coordinator performs data collection and analysis of student participation and academics as well as stipend and tutoring management. This position also communicates with parents and families of participants frequently. The Academic Coordinator oversees the operation of the summer program and supervises summer program support staff and student employees.

Director, TRIO McNair Program

The McNair Scholars Program is funded through a U.S. Department of Education TRIO Grant. The purpose of the program is to provide research experience, academic, career, and graduate school preparation and guidance to students who are low-income, first generation, or are underrepresented in doctoral programs. This a 12-month, full-time position. Continuation of the position is dependent on renewal of grant funds. The McNair Director reports to the Executive Director of Diversity, Inclusivity and Belonging, and will directly supervise the McNair Program Coordinator, the Administrative Assistant, and a Graduate Assistant. The Director will be responsible for recruiting students into the program, ensuring that the program meets enrollment and success metrics, and ensuring that the program supports students' success in pursuing graduate education. POSITION SUMMARY
This is a part-time grant-funded position that works with federally-funded TRIO Educational Talent Search (ETS) program and is responsible for providing outreach and identification of eligible participants to include middle/high school students; guidance on secondary school re-entry; financial literacy; academic counseling; advising; assistance with college admission processes; conducting needs and outcome assessment and assisting with periodic reports. The Educational Outreach Specialist works under general direction of the ETS Manager and Senior Director of CMAS to provide program services to participants within established guidelines; to develop and implement goals, operating procedures and programmatic efforts; and to keep abreast of TRIO rules and regulations.
