Senior Research Engineer, Power Electronics Collins Aerospace

Experience in the power electronic system trade-off studies, evaluation for mission profile, loss/efficiency, and power density. High-voltage (1 to 5 kV-class), high power (MW-class) power converter design (e.g. multi-level converters). An applied background in aerospace systems and architectures is a plus. Familiarity with aerospace regulations and certification standards is also desirable but not essential. A PhD in Electronics Engineering, with 0-2+ years of industrial or academic experience, or a Master’s degree with 2-5+ years of experience in industry or academia.

JOB DESCRIPTION Imperix is constantly developing new power electronics application examples so that customers can get started more quickly and more effectively when working on converter control implementation. In that sense, the company seeks to reinforce its R&D team with an PE engineer interested in : * Developing and implementing control techniques for a broad varierty of power electronic applications. The selected control implementation shall be based on solid literature review and state-of-the art solutions. * Validating the proposed implementation using both computer simulations and experimental validation with imperix products. * Documenting the implemented solution and providing related advice to readers.
Typical applications also vary from motor drives to PV or energy storage systems, going through microgrids and wireless power transfer systems. Furthermore, contributions to product development are also expected.
REQUIREMENTS * Education: MSc or PhD in electrical engineering (or similar field of studies). * Seniority: Prior experience in power electronics desired. * Language: Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken. Other languages are a plus.
