Do you love food or have a passion for plant-based cuisine? Turning Sun School is hiring a Food Educator/Campus Chef to create a culture of curiosity and collaboration between the kitchen and classrooms for students ages 3 months - 5 years. This position would be responsible for implementing our Food Education Program goals and coordinating with our caterer to create experiences for children around food, preparing and serving daily snacks and meals.

Staff are typically salaried which includes being paid for the 40-45 weekdays we are closed each year (we follow public school schedules). Full time staff are eligible for health insurance benefits and optional retirement plan. Hours are 8:30-4:30 are Mon-Fri year round.

The Operations & Communications Assistant works with the CEO and the COO to strengthen and grow the business by maintaining a smoothly run production and delivery schedule and by helping to create market opportunities. The Operations & Communications Assistant ensures the delivery of excellent products, outstanding client communication and assists with market outreach through various digital and in person channels. This position helps anticipate and plan for production needs by creating, documenting and reinforcing internal systems and protocols. Additionally this position does some work writing and generating social media, blog posts and other public facing communications as directed, including appearances at farmers markets and other in-person events.

This schedule is part-time, flexible. Approximately 70 hours per month. Most work done from the warehouse with some work from home.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
The Operations & Communications Assistant will work closely with and report directly to the COO to assist with monthly operations including ordering supplies, maintaining inventory counts and pars, packing and shipping orders for all products. This person will also work closely with both founders (CEO & COO) to help produce and monitor external and internal communications and marketing commitments including social media calendars, blogs and other social media posts, and in person marketing opportunities.

Tasks will include:

Ordering and organizing supplies on a monthly basis
Assembly and packing of products
Maintaining ShipStation account
Adjusting and monitoring website
Creating and adhering to monthly production schedule
Monitoring social media accounts
Writing blog posts and generating some social media content
Some customer service communication
Some delivery and obtainment of product
Appearance at weekend farmers markets and other in-person marketing events as needed
Other helpful tasks and assistance as allowed
